Chocolate and honey madeleines

The smell in my kitchen is just like in a bakery! It won't be a surprise if my neighbours attracted by the wonderful aroma are about to knock at my door. The source of killing flavour is in front of you.

Madeleines with chocolate chunks and cocoa powder

As for me chocolate madeleines are very festive cookies. They are beautifully shaped (like small shells!) and taste divine and very popular among kids and grown-ups. If you are a big chocolate cookie fan I strongly recommend you to wear you apron and bake the cookies right now! Don't worry if there is not special baking mold among your kitchen tools. Simple muffin cups are good substitute. Be sure it won't influence the taste :)

Chocolate and honey madeleines
(the recipe is from Niksya blog)

Preparation: 20 min + 2 hours.
Process: 12 min.

140 g butter
40 g dark chocolate (70 %)
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
90 g sugar
40 g honey
140 g flour
1 tsp baking powder
20 g unsweetened cocoa powder
cocoa powder for dusting

1. Melt butter in a saucepan. Remove from heat and cool a little.
2. Chop the chocolate.
3. In a large mixing bowl beat the eggs, add vanilla, sugar and honey, mix until incorporated.
4. In another bowl sift flour, baking powder and cocoa. Add dry ingredients to the liquid ones, mix well. Add butter, mix until incorporated.
5. Add chocolate, mix a little and set the batter aside for 2 hours.
6. Heat the oven to 210 C. Grease the baking mold. Fill it with batter (1 Tbsp of batter per a "shell"). Bake for 10-12 min.
7. Cool before removing from the molds. Dust with cocoa powder.
